This all-inclusive course teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies at a swimming pool facility.  The course content and hands-on activities prepare participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and to prevent drowning and injuries.  Participants will learn how to identify behaviors of swimmers in distress, active and passive drowning victims, understand the components of an EAP and how to activate it, understand the general procedure for an emergency occurring in water or on land, perform equipment based rescues, provide first aid and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, and recorgnize and care for possible head, neck or back injuries.  Participants MUST attend all classes.  Participants MUST be 15 years or older by the end of the course.  Participants MUST pass the pre-requisite swim test: 4 lengths of freestyle, 4 lengths of breast stroke and 4 lengths of your choice.  COST: $325; JCC Member Discount: $225
