Nostra Aetate, which means “In Our Time,” is the 1965 Second Vatican Council statement on the relationship of the Catholic Church to other religions that encouraged dialogue with all faiths, and in particular, it reversed centuries of Christian claims that Jews were enemies of God whose covenantal life was obsolete.
