TORAH FOR FOODIES
God says: Let the earth sprout
vegetation: herbage yielding seed, fruit trees yielding fruit each after its kind [Genesis 1:11].
Exploring Torah passages, Rabbi Allen Juda will expound on Biblical references to vegetarianism, kashrut, the seven species of sacred fruits and grains grown in the Land of Israel and the significance of trees.
Following these presentations, Jannie Kay will demonstrate the practice of mindfully planning and preparing foods as related to Rabbi Juda’s presentation. The dishes selected will foster wellness for the body, mind, and spirit. The class will participate in preparing and eating the fruits of their labor.
